Whether it concerns a music store, tax form or mortgage application, user experience design means giving the users what they want. But how do you find out who the users are and what they want?

A popular technique is the use of personas: detailed descriptions of fictitious users. Personas help designers understand the needs, wishes and expectations of real users. Informaat has raised the persona technique to a higher level by introducing the living persona panel. Living personas are trained to personify users. They get involved in the design process from the very beginning until the end and test the prototype at various stages. Working with living personas has substantial advantages: they provide deeper insight in user needs and behavior than conventional paper personas.
